RESEARCH INTERESTS

We seek to understand the ecology of antibiotic resistance, particularly the role of anthropogenic activities in the spread of antibiotic resistance in aquatic systems. We are equally focused on characterizing the genetic basis of most relevant antibiotic resistance mechanisms and of mobile genetic elements that contribute to antibiotic resistance dissemination.

Other interests concern the microbiota role as a main player in health/disease and in ecosystems equilibrium. We use molecular biology techniques, phenotypic, genomic and metagenomic tools.
